National Referral Dialysis Centre
East Africa
Overview
Project overview
Design, construction, and equipping of a multi-station dialysis centre within an existing national referral hospital.
Challenge
The challenge
The hospital needed to expand renal care capacity within a constrained existing footprint, without disrupting ongoing hospital operations.
Design Process
How we designed it
We mapped patient and staff flow through the existing hospital to design a dialysis wing that could be built in phases alongside daily operations.
Construction
How we built it
Construction followed a phased sequence, isolating active work zones so the rest of the hospital continued operating throughout the build.
Equipment
Equipping the centre
Dialysis machines and a dedicated water treatment system were installed and commissioned against clinical specification.
Outcome
The outcome
The hospital added dedicated dialysis capacity for the surrounding region.
